# FAQ

## Options

  <Accordion title="When do options expire and settle?">
    At the 4:00 PM ET close (1:00 PM on half-days), today or the next session. Two expiries are offered at a time. The payout lands in your wallet within minutes after the close.

  <Accordion title="What price do options settle at?">
    The average on-chain token price over the last 5 minutes before the close, checked against the real stock's price. If no price can be established within 6 hours, the premium is refunded.

  <Accordion title="Can I sell an option before expiry?">
    Yes, at the current bid, until 15 minutes before its expiry. Tap **Sell \$X** in the stock page's Positions table. See [Positions & settlement](/options/positions-and-settlement).

  <Accordion title="Can I write or sell options to open?">
    Not yet. The **Neutral** outlook and selling to open are labelled "Coming soon".
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What's the most I can spend on one options order?">
    \$100 of premium per buy. The most you can lose on it is that premium.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why can't I buy options for this stock on my phone?">
    Phone buying is available on the nine featured stocks: AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, GOOGL, META, PLTR, COIN, SPCX, and SPY. Other stocks can be bought from a desktop or tablet.

  <Accordion title="Why does the options price differ from the stock's exchange price?">
    Options are priced and settled against the stock's token on Robinhood Chain, which trades in on-chain pools around the clock. Its price can differ from the exchange quote, and tokens tagged "thin" are priced by shallow pools.

## Interval markets

  <Accordion title="What am I trading on?">
    Whether a stock or crypto price closes a 5-, 15-, or 60-minute window above where it opened. You buy **Up** or **Down** contracts, and each winning contract pays \$1.00. See [How windows work](/interval/how-windows-work).

  <Accordion title="What happens if the price finishes exactly where it started?">
    It settles **Down**. As the ticket puts it: "If the price is unchanged, it settles as Down. Up needs a real move."

  <Accordion title="Why was my order rejected with &#x22;Price moved to …&#x22;?">
    The quote changed between what you saw and the fill. updown refuses fills more than about 30% plus 3¢ worse than the price shown. Try again at the new price.

  <Accordion title="Can I place a limit order?">
    Not yet. The Limit form is visible in the ticket, but its button is disabled until limit orders launch.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I sell before the window closes?">
    Yes. Tap **Sell** on your row in **Live Positions**, or use **Market → Sell** in the ticket. The realized difference is settled immediately.

  <Accordion title="When do stocks trade?">
    Stock interval markets run 24/5, from Sunday 8:00 PM to Friday 8:00 PM ET. Eight stocks also stay open over the weekend on a 24/7 perpetual price; PLTR and SPY close. Crypto trades 24/7. See [market hours](/interval/how-windows-work#market-hours).

  <Accordion title="What is Multi-buy?">
    A way to place up to 20 interval buys in one order. Each pick is its own independent buy, not a parlay. See [Multi-buy](/interval/multi-buy).

## Fees, balances, and settlement

  <Accordion title="What does a trade cost?">
    Options carry no fee. Interval trades carry a small taker fee on every buy and sell, built into the price you see, with no separate line.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="When do I get paid?">
    Automatically. Interval windows are settled by a job that runs every minute. Options are settled after the close by a job that runs every 5 minutes. Your activity shows **Won** or **Lost** and your cash updates. There is nothing to claim.

  <Accordion title="What is the difference between Cash, Available cash, and Portfolio?">
    **Cash** is the USDG in your wallet. **Available cash** is Cash minus what your open interval windows reserve. **Portfolio** adds the live value of your open positions. See [Portfolio](/portfolio/overview#the-balance-model).

  <Accordion title="Why does my interval position show a different value on the market page and on Portfolio?">
    The market page marks at the current bid. Portfolio marks at the midpoint. The two converge when you sell or the window settles.

  <Accordion title="Do options count for the Tournament?">
    Yes. The Tournament ranks your realized P\&L across both options and interval markets. See [Tournament](/platform/tournament).

## Deposits and withdrawals

  <Accordion title="Which networks can I deposit from?">
    USDG on Robinhood Chain (minimum $0.50), or USDC on Polygon (minimum $2), which is routed into your balance automatically. Other chains are listed as "Soon". See [Deposit & withdraw](/portfolio/deposit-withdraw).

  <Accordion title="Can I pay by card?">
    Yes. Choose **Card or bank** in the deposit dialog to pay with a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or a US bank account. Card purchases usually land within a few minutes; bank transfers can take a few days.

  <Accordion title="I sent the wrong token or network.">
    Only USDG on Robinhood Chain and USDC on Polygon are supported. Other tokens or networks may result in permanent loss, and there is no in-app recovery. Contact [support](/help/support) with the transaction hash.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I withdraw, and is there a fee?">
    Click **Withdraw** on your Portfolio page, paste a Robinhood Chain address, and enter at least \$2. You receive USDG, gas is sponsored, and it usually arrives instantly. Cash reserved by open interval windows can't be withdrawn until they settle.

  <Accordion title="Do I need a crypto wallet to sign up?">
    No. Sign in with your email or Google account and an embedded wallet is created for you. You never install a browser extension or manage a seed phrase.

## Account, profile, and eligibility

  <Accordion title="Who can see my profile?">
    Anyone, at `/u/your-username`. Hide **Wallet**, **Positions**, or **Activity** in **Edit profile → Visibility**. Your email, wallet addresses, withdrawals, and options positions are never shown. See [Profiles & social](/platform/profiles-and-social).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What is a take?">
    A note of up to 280 characters, or a GIF, you can post with any trade. It appears on the feed and on your profile. Long-shot trades get a "🔥 Hot take" badge.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is updown available in my country?">
    Trading is not available in every region. If you are in a restricted region, a globe icon appears in the top bar with the tooltip "Trading is unavailable in your region". If you are unsure about your eligibility, contact [support](/help/support).

  <Accordion title="My account says &#x22;Account flagged&#x22;. What now?">
    Trading, deposits, and rewards are restricted, but "Your balance is not affected — you can still withdraw at any time." If you believe it is a mistake, contact support. See [Support](/help/support#restricted-accounts).

  <Accordion title="How do I contact support?">
    Click **Contact us** in the bottom bar (or ☰ → **More** on a phone) to send a message from the app, or use email, X, or Discord. See [Support](/help/support).
