# Quickstart

> From a fresh browser to your first option and your first interval trade.

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Click **Login** in the top right (on a phone, open the ☰ menu and tap **Login**). Sign in with your **email** or **Google** account. updown uses [Privy](https://privy.io), so there is no browser extension or seed phrase. Your account is created automatically with a generated username such as "BlueAngrySquare". You stay on the page you were on.

  <Step title="Open the deposit dialog">
    Click **Cash** in the top bar (on a phone, tap **Deposit** on Home). The **Deposit with** dialog offers **Crypto** or **Card or bank**.

    The first time, you'll see the **Enable trading** panel. Click **Allow trading**, wait for "Trading enabled", and click **Continue**. This one-time approval lets your trades go through without a signature each time.

  <Step title="Deposit">
    Choose **Crypto** and pick a network: **Robinhood Chain** (send **USDG**, at least $0.50) or **Polygon** (send **USDC**, at least $2, routed into your balance automatically). Scan the QR code or copy the address, then send from your wallet or exchange. The toast "Deposit added to your balance" confirms it.

    Or choose **Card or bank** to pay with a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or a US bank account. Card purchases usually land within a few minutes.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Buy your first option">
    Click **Options** in the top bar. You land on SPY; pick any stock from search or the side panel. Under **Quick trade**, choose **Up**, pick one of the three cards (for example "Above $770"), and click **Add to order**. In the order panel, set the **Amount** and click **Buy $X\*\*. "Bought for \$X" confirms it.

    On a phone, tap the **Trade** tab, then **▲ Up** in the docked bar. Pick a row, tap **$1**, **$5**, or **$10**, and tap **▲ Buy above $X · \$Y**.

  <Step title="Buy your first interval contracts">
    Click **Interval** in the top bar. Tap **Up 51¢** (or **Down 49¢**) on any card. A trade dialog opens with the live window chart. Tap \*\*$5**. A **Trade executed** card confirms, for example "Bought $5.00 Up @ 51¢ · Pays \$9.80 if Up wins".

  <Step title="Add a take (optional)">
    After any trade, the confirmation offers **Add your take**. Type up to 280 characters or pick a **GIF**, then **Post**, or **Skip**. Takes appear on the public feed with your trade.

  <Step title="Watch it settle">
    Open **Portfolio**. Options settle after the 4:00 PM ET close and pay to your wallet within minutes. Interval windows settle when they end, usually within a minute. There is nothing to claim.
