Every trade on updown is public by default, and every trader has a public profile. This page covers the social layer built on top of that.

Public profiles

Click any avatar or username anywhere in the app to open that trader’s profile at /u/username. It shows their icon, name, X link if set, the stats Volume, Realized P&L, and Rank, their Following and Followers counts, their open Positions, their top take, and their activity.
  • Follow with the button in the header. Hover it to Unfollow. Followers and following lists open from the counts.
  • Sections a trader has hidden read “Wallet hidden”, “Positions hidden”, or “Activity hidden” with “@name keeps this private.”
  • A profile never shows the trader’s email, wallet addresses, withdrawals, or options positions.

The feed

The feed is the live list of everyone’s trades. Open it from the side panel’s Feed tab on wide screens, or the Feed tab on a phone, where it has filters All / Options / Interval. Each row shows the trader’s icon and name, how long ago, and a trade card such as “SPY above 770"withan∗∗Option∗∗tagand"Bought770" with an **Option** tag and "Bought 4.92 ▲ Up $4.57”, or an interval buy with its side and price. Rows with a take show a Take badge, or 🔥 Hot take when the trade was a long shot (an interval contract bought under 20¢). A heart under each take shows its likes. The feed updates every 5 seconds.

Takes

After any trade, the confirmation offers a take box: “Add your take — Shown on the feed with this trade”, with the placeholder “Why this trade?”.

Type up to 280 characters, or tap GIF to pick one.

Post or skip

Tap Post, or Skip to trade without a take.
Takes cannot be edited later. A multi-buy takes one take for the whole batch. Posting is limited to 20 per minute.

Avatar pins on charts

Charts show who bought where:
  • On an interval market page and the featured panel, the current window’s chart carries each buyer’s avatar at their entry. The tooltip reads their name, “$5.00 on Up”, and their take.
  • On an options stock page, the last 24 hours of buys are pinned to the candles: calls above, puts below. The tooltip reads their name, “4.92onthecallat4.92 on the call at 770”, and their take.
